About the Author
Rickey E. Pittman, storyteller, author, and guitarist/singer, presents his stories, music, and programs at Celtic festivals throughout the South. He was the grand prize winner of the 1998 Ernest Hemingway Short Story Competition. A freelance editor and writer, Pittman worked closely with regional Louisiana arts councils to write historical plays for three parishes. He is a certified secondary gifted English teacher and resides in Monroe, Louisiana.
About the Illustrator
Connie McLennan is a member of the San Francisco Society of Illustrators, the Northwest Air Force Artists, and the Picture Book Artists Association. She is also one of two founding members of OASES, the Outreach Alliance for Special Ed Support in Rocklin, California. She graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a B.A. in journalism and a minor in art. She lives with her husband in Rocklin, where she works as a freelance artist.
